Computer Vision with Purpose

10+ Years of Computer Vision Experience have allowed me to dip my fingers into a lot of pies, especially for embedded CV. This site will show my work so you know I’m the talent you need.

Displace.TV

Computer Vision & Input Engineer (2023-2025)

I prototyped a hand gesture control system to run on the battery operated TV.
I also created a user input device with a touch screen.

Languages: Python, C++, Kotlin
Areas in CV: Architecture, CNN, Data Collection, Fine Tuning, Keypoint Models, Object Detection, ONNX, OpenCV, OpenVino, PyTorch, Quantization, Training, Test Framework, Tensorflow, Torchvision
Other Areas: Android, Bash, Battery Optimization, Git, Leadership, Hardware Evaluation, Multithreading, Networking, Systems Design, UX Design, 0 to 1 Delivery

CES 2025, Displace.TV with a pop out camera for Hand Gestures and a prototype remote.
The Google Nest Doorbell my team worked on.

Google Nest

Software Engineer (2019-2023)

Coded the communication which allows users to change the doorbell from Google Home!
Because of my camera experience I worked directly with other companies to perfect video encoders for battery operated devices.

Languages: C++
Areas in Embedded Engineering: H.264 & H.265 Encoders, Protobuf, Make, Multithreading, Video Compression
Other Areas: Bash, Cloud, Mentoring, Systems Design, 1 to N Delivery

Atheer

Computer Vision Engineer (2015-2018)

After Atheer acquired my previous company, I integrated hand gesture detection into Atheer’s products (Atheer Air). I then focused on creating onboarding experiences for Atheer’s platform.

Languages: C++, Java
Areas in CV: Data Collection, Fine Tuning, Object Detection, OpenCV, TensorFlow
Other Areas: Android, Android NDK, Bash, Hardware Evaluation, Hololens, Vuzix, UX Design, 1 to N Delivery

Part of the Vuzix Integration Tutorial I made in Atheer.
Brainwave, an app controlling music with Computer Vision

OnTheGo Platforms

Computer Vision Engineer, First Employee (2013-2015)

The first job I had after college, I was able to hit the ground running by creating a hand gesture library from the ground up.

To demonstrate this technology I created Brainwave, a gesture-controlled music app that supported acquisition. The video on the left shows it in action!

OnTheGo Platforms was then acquired by Atheer.

Languages: Java, Bash
Areas in CV: Data Collection, Haar Cascades, OpenCV, Optical Flow, Training
Other Areas: AWS, API Design, Android, 0 to 1 Delivery
